My dream is put on hold.....

Long story short...

Not getting a van in the near future. Had nowhere to go until my sister offered me a room in her house. So.....I'm hoping to maybe be on the road by the end of the year.

With that said, this blog will be pretty desolate until something happens...

PEACE!!

Am I going ? Am I staying ?

This week has been a rollercoaster. Didn't get hardly anything for my bus. Which means, I don't have enough for a van. So, I put a call in to my job and they are working on getting me a trailer to stay in. I'll know tomorrow afternoon....

HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY, Geocaching

11 years ago today, the very first geocache was hidden in rural Oregon, outside Portland. It was hidden by Dave Ulmer to test the accuracy of the global positioning system following a presidential order to disable the selective-availability feature that limited the effectiveness of the technology for civilian use. He hid a black 5 gallon bucket filled with a logbook and various items, including a tape recorder and a can of beans. Yes, a real can of beans! Which, by the way, is still around somewhere in a glass case. Here is the link to a pic of the O.C.B.

11 years has passed by and there are now over 1.3 million caches all over the world.

I'm FUCT

I'm done with the bus as much as I'm going to mess with it. It isn't completely put together, but I'm just done. I started it at $2800, then $2000, now, it's at $1600 and still no takers. Looks like I'm going to be donating it and giving my Mom the write-off. I'll probably rent a car to get to my job in Utah and then buy a van up there somewhere. Anyway, here are pics of the "finished" bus...

Almost done!

I've been working more on the bus and it seems to be almost done. The big thing is that window well in the last pic. I'm leaving that for last. I've been looking online at vans, specifically Ford Full-size, Chevy Astros and GMC Safaris. Be nice to find an AWD Safari! I've put $6000 into this money pit of a bus and I'm hoping to get $3000 out of it. I'll put it up at $4500 and take 3K.

Here we go...

Well, since I mentioned that I'm going to write more....here goes! I'm still currently working on the bus. A few problems arose when I started taking out the windshield. Mind you, this is a 43 year old vehicle. As I started cutting away the rotted rubber, water started streaming out! This rubber was like plastic it was so hard! I think I got enough out to start pushing the windshield out. Nope! A very nice and large spider crack in the middle! So, another windshield and another expense! Once it is out, I check to see how bad the rust is...
It looks like swiss cheese! Those black areas are holes! Luckily, I found a replacement windshield well. Unluckily, I have to find a guy to weld it in!

All in all, it is going fairly well, but if I had to do it all again, NO CHANCE IN H*LL!!

Well...Pt. 2

Since my title includes a cat, I should introduce him to you....

His name is Patch and he was born on August 22, 2010.

Well.....

Things have changed since I was on here last...I'm still fixing up the bus, but I'm selling it as soon as it is done and getting a regular van.

I also have a job lined up for the summer as a boat dock person. Check out the link...www.bearpawfishingresort.com
